
Cooee /ku:'i:/ a shout used in Australia, a means of re-uniting those separated, to help to find or bring somebody home - in this case, to help connect us with the past.
The national biennial conference of the MHSA was held in April 2010 in Melbourne, and a COOEE team member was the conference convener. The conference saw a wide range of topics presented on Australian military history subjects. Keynote speaker was Professor David Lowe of Deakin University's Alfred Deakin Research Institute; along with expert presentations from MHSA members, authors and other guest speakers such as the US Defence Attaché. Dinner speaker was Major-General (Rtd) Andrew 'Jim' Molan, AO, DSC.
